T
he following article is a clear analysis. Failure to disprove the calculations will be admitting that the outcome is true. Therefore any further contradicting statement, or opinion you say would be sheer hypocrisy.

Does Israel Use Excessive Force

A - Reasons one would think Israel uses excessive force.

A.1- Continuous reports of Israeli soldiers using live ammo on
Palestinian protesters armed only with rocks.

-A person armed with a gun shooting at someone armed only with rocks would be an uneven battle.
-An uneven battle besides being unfair is probably also unnecessary, and therefore excessive.
A.2 -Reports of innocent bystanders being killed.
-Even if one would agree to Israel’s right to attack violent protesters how can the death of innocent bystanders be justified.
-These people aren’t even throwing rocks, why do they deserve to die?
A.3 -The amount of young kids on the list of causalities.
-Even if one would justify the death of adult bystanders as an unavoidable outcome, how can one say that about kids.
-Kids are more innocent. They also lack the thought process to know to avoid such confrontations.
-If so how can Israeli soldiers open fire when they see kids in the crowd.

A-Summery (A.1) If Palestinians only have rocks, Israel should not need
guns to subdue them, guns are therefore excessive.
(A.2) Even if A.1 was not a problem how could a soldier fire in to a crowd knowing innocent people will die.
(A.3) Even if A.2 was not a problem the soldiers should restrain themselves as not to harm kids.

B - Defining Excessive Force

In order to say that Israel uses excessive force two things must be clarified.
B.1-Israel uses more violence then needed.
-If every act of violence done by Israel was necessary, then it would not be excessive.
-It might be violent, people might die as a result, but it would not be excessive.
-The definition of excessive is, “More then necessary”.
B.2-Use of this unnecessary violence is unusual among the other
countries.

-Even if we were to conclude that Israel does use unnecessary force, we still have to deal with another issue.
-If using unnecessary force is a common practice amongst today’s nations we would have the following outcome:
-Israel does not stick out by its recent actions.
-Israel is only one of many nations that used excessive force, or would, should a situation present itself.
-Constantly protesting Israel’s use of excessive force would now be wrong.
-Since Israel is only one of many such nations, your protest efforts should be equally divided amongst every nation that uses excessive force.
-Placing the bulk of ones criticism on Israel would be unjust, and would show a personal bias against Israel.

B-Summery (B.1) If Israel does not use more force than necessary then their
actions can not be called excessive.
(B.2) Even if we conclude that Israel does use excessive force, if it is a common practice one would have two choices: Either to keep quiet, or protest against every nation that does this. Complaining only about Israel would be wrong.

C-Does Israel use more force then necessary.

C.1-Israel has the right to defend its land and citizens.
-We are not going to explain Israel’s right to the land at this point.
-This will be discussed in a future article.
-For now we will justify Israel’s use of basic force as a country’s duty to protect it’s citizens.
-Every country has the right to do this.
-Besides the point, by saying Israel uses "excessive force" as opposed to complaining about any force used. One is agreeing that Israel has the right to use some force as long as it is necessary.
C.2-Israel does not use more force then necessary.
-Israeli Citizen’s are constantly under attack.
-At this point over 500 citizens were killed.
-Nearly every victim was killed in an open terror attack.
-Israel has to prevent this from continuing.
-There are two ways of lowering the attack rate.
-The 1st would be destroying terrorist operation centers.
-The 2nd would be stopping terrorist from entering Israel.
-This is accomplished by setting up roadblocks.
-Palestinian people resent these blocks & often center their protest around them.
-Soldiers guard the roadblocks.
-We are now going to explain how these soldiers are forced to use violence to save their own lives.
-To begin with, Palestinian are not only armed with rocks.
-This is a myth. They have guns, grenades as well as their favorite, Molotov Cocktails.
-Even the most anti Israel media sources (ex. NY TIMES & CNN) will at some point agree that at nearly all Palestinian protests live ammo is fired at the Israeli’s.
-A lot of times the Palestinians are the first to fire.
-The average confrontation goes as follows:
-As the protesters near the checkpoint, they breakout chanting “Death to the Jews.”
-Soon come the rocks, being hurled directly at the soldiers, often they are accompanied by live ammo.
-At this point most people would go ahead & use their guns.
-However due to Israeli’s policy of restraint, the soldiers hold back their fire.
-As the crowd gets closer the soldiers have 2 choices, retreat - which is out of the question, or somehow stop the mob.
-The soldiers then fire a couple of rounds of rubber coated bullets.
-At this points a number of soldiers could already be wounded or dead.
-After firing warning shots in the air they are sadly are forced to use the guns on the protesters.
-When bullets are shot people die.
-Those who were on the offensive deserved to die by simple law of self-defense.
-If they wouldn’t have been killed they could have killed the soldiers.
-As for the people who did not participate in the attack - why are they there.
-The soldiers must fire in self-defense, they can’t risk death by holding back their fire on the chance they might kill an innocent person.
-Therefore the people themselves are to blame.
-If you place yourself in a place where you can easily be killed, you just might find yourself dead.
-The same goes for the children, who die in battle, they should not be in a war zone.
-Although the blame can’t be placed on the kids themselves due to lack of brain development. It can be placed on the people who caused them to be there. These people are the Palestinian leaders.
-We must therefore conclude that Israel does use violence, however it is not excessive.

C-Summary (C.1) Israel has the right to defend its country even by means
of violence.
(C.2) The amount of violence used is completely necessary and therefore can not be referred to as excessive; rather it is typical ease of national defense.

D-Israel is acting in a universally accepted fashion.
D.1 -There is no need for the following section, since we already proved that Israel’s use of violence is necessary & non-excessive.
-We are simply giving a second reason to back up our conclusion.
D.2-Israel’s actions can not be condemned since it is only one of many
civilized countries that would act the same.

-As we already explained (B.2) this would prevent a person from criticizing Israel without equally criticizing all nations guilty of the same action.
D.3-Here are some examples of nations who have used even worse
tactics in the last couple of years.

-In order to remain on topic we are only going to list the top three.
-We are not even going to mention the US operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
1- US attack of Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.
-The US launched an aggressive campaign to cripple Iraq. They used heave artillery such as missals & bombs. Many bystanders including women & children were killed.
-To start with the weapons used by the US were much more lethal and damaging then those used by Israel.
-Israel is defending it’s own people on it’s own land. The US was killing people in a distant land that were not even an immediate threat to its population.
2- Russia’s war against Chechneya.
-The Russians killed many more people then were killed in mid-east
-They used more force then Israel, often purposely-targeting women & children.
3- China’s destruction of party opposition.
-China is known to kill people that opposed the national party.
-There are many proven cases where they were known to torture their victims.
-While Israel reacts to prevent the killing of its people, China kills for mere political reasons

D-Summary (D.1) This section is unnecessary but written to give a second reason.
(D.2) Many nations have used similar or worse tactics then Israel. Therefore if one wants to protest he must direct his protest against all nations who act in such fashion.
(D.3) List of three nations using worse actions in recent years:
1-US during the Gulf War.
2-Russia’s war against Chechnya.
3-China’s crushing of opposition.

E-Conclusion
One can not accuse Israel of using excessive violence for two reasons:
1) Violence use by Israel is necessary & not excessive.
2) Israel is using universally accepted actions, therefore to criticize
Israel you must criticize everyone who falls into the same category.
