Kavanot for Ashes
Putting on a sack and ashes is a very big Tikun
The best time to do so is during a fast, Tikun Chatzot and when doing Vidoy
-This Tikun
goes very well together with the sack.
-There are many references to ashes used as part of the process to attain
forgiveness.
-Daniel 9 "To pray and beg while fasting and wearing sackcloth and
ashes". Ester 4 "He dressed in sackcloth and ashes"....
Burn some paper or a match until it turns to ash. Now place some on top of your head under Kipa and where you place your Tifilin.
